Write OutLoud

What is it?:  Write OutLoud is a talking word processing program. Write Out Loud is designed for children who have visual impairments, benefit from auditory feedback as they type letters and words, have text and background color preferences, and can use buttons with symbols or auditory cues.
 

Write OutLoud features:

Talking Toolbar: The toolbar gives you one click access to common tasks, it is displayed at the top of the Write Out Loud documents.  The toolbar contains a print one feature, which allows students to skip the traditional print window and print their document with just one click.

Add Pictures: You can add pictures from the graphics library and/or import graphics from other computer programs.

Franklin spell checker and dictionary:  The built-in Franklin spell checker and dictionary displays and reads words in context.

Speak text: This program can speak letters, words, sentences, and paragraphs.  Users can choose from a variety of voice options.

Highlight word by word: This program highlights words one at a time as they are read aloud.  You can choose from an array of highlight colors.

Word processing features:  This program has many standard word processing features including paragraph alignment, line spacing, use of tabs and preset tabs, ability the change text color, size, and style, background color, and set highlight color.
