Idea Implementation Worksheet - Distributed in class

Throughout the week, use the idea implementation worksheet to
document technology adaptations appropriate to your classroom setting.
Organize and compile this information into a continuum of strategies,
modifications, and assistive technology tools which could be used with
your students.

Virtual Field Trips

Take a virtual field trip to websites pertaining to the specific needs of
your students.  Complete a written reflection of the journey and share
thoughts with peers on Friday.

Lesson Plan Adaptation and AT Modification

Identify and thoroughly describe one class unit appropriate for your
students.  You may choose or develop one of your own class units or you
can choose one from resources available.  Using your lesson unit, provide
and develop the following:

  • Describe your class unit.  (Click here to view a sample unit)
  • Identify the reading, writing, and organizational components of your unit.
  • Detail and describe ways you could modify and/or use assistive technology tools to make each component of the lesson more accessible to special needs students
    • (Minimum of five modifications/tools per component).
  • Identify at least one high tech assistive technology software solution that students could use during the unit.  Create one informational smartsheet and one how-to smartsheet for this software so that students, other staff, and substitute teachers would be able to understand and use this software in this unit.
